The Centre International de l’Art Pariétal opens its doors to you for a journey into prehistory. Since the closure of the original cave in 1963, Lascaux IV offers an immersive experience as close to reality as possible. Would you like a guided tour, an exploration at your own pace with an audioguide, or a tailor-made discovery ? Lascaux IV adapts to your needs:

• Guided tour : mornings and afternoons, for discovery with a mediator.
• Self-guided tour : only at lunchtime, with an audioguide.
• Personalized tour : at specific times, for a storytelling or Prestige tour.

🕓 In total, allow 2 to 3 hours on site between the cave and the other areas of Lascaux.

    Start your visit at the Lascaux IV lookout. From here, you can enjoy the view over the Vézère Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continuing on your way, you’ll come to the entrance to the replica. Inside, the atmosphere is that of a real cave.

Lascaux II or Lascaux IV: which tour should you choose ?

Here are the elements to help you choose :

► Lascaux II (opened 1983) : the first partial reproduction of the cave, it presents 85% of the original paintings in a protected setting 200 meters from the real cave. You can visit the cave in an intimate, enriching atmosphere.

► Lascaux IV (Centre International de l’Art Pariétal) : full replica of the cave, integrated into a modern architectural center of over 8,000 m² dedicated to cave art. Your visit is enriched by five immersive scenographic spaces combining augmented reality and interactive projections…
